[OC] More terrestrial tully monster lookalikes, The Archiothiurians
The Greater Chiurah (Chupacabratherium gigantis) Is a larger, bulkier relative of the Chiurah (Chupacabratherium rex). It's a fierce predator, evolving a tripodal stance to leap at high distances to catch prey like it's smaller, skinnier relative. It's mandibles have evolved higher grip, while it's sharp spurs when grabbing prey, tears the skin of the prey itself.
The next alien, the Keru'Kioko (Pidlimatherium thermos) is a small, desert-dwelling jerboa-like herbivorous species that lives on burrows to protect itself. It's elongated legs, plantigrade at only 1 digit can leap at 50 meters to escape predators. It has ear-like flaps to cool itself down, like how an elephant uses it's ears.
The final alien on this list, the Des'Kara is a camel-sized omnivorous animal that it's arm-mouth is covered in fat that the joints aren't visible. It has the same heat-regulating flaps like the Keru'Kioko The fat arm-mouth has one specific purpose, heat regulation.
[OC] [WIP] the Tully Monster look-alikes, Archiothiurians cladogram
I know this is a work-in-progress, but i will make more drawings soon.
The ancestral archiothiurian in the top-left, namely Cryochoani primium lived in arid tundras. They are solitary omnivores, with a diet consisting of plants, eggs and small animals. They are highly adaptable, losing it's fur in summer and regaining it in winter. Unfortunately, it went extinct due to predator overpopulation.
[OC] The J'noo (Pinguisapiens terriblis) and their close relatives
The J'noo (Pinguisapiens terriblis) are small sapient penguin-like aliens from the home moon Viteria, which itself orbits a rocky planet. Pinguisapiens build burrow-like shafts to protect themselves from the warm weather. They are nocturnal, only emerging from their shafts during nighttime to harvest crops called Scallop Radishes, called kyùrr'sas in their native language. They have compound eyes for pixelated vision, like most insects. Their so-called "arm" is actually a jointed mouth, with it's mandibles used for grasping and eating. To eat, it doesn't need utensils. Instead, it gulps the food with it's grasping mandibles. They are herbivorous, and it eats Ēßōñī Feïō, which is a type of soup made from crushed up kyùrr'sas and their natural source of water.
Another animal called the Tumu'ektau (Struthioequus alienum) are large ostrich-like aliens that are relatives of the J'noo. They are used for racing, similar of that to horses because of it's speed (125km/h). It has similar attributes of the J'noo, excluding sapience, a long tail, nocturnal life and fur. It lives on the desert, where fur is not needed. It is primarily diurnal, finding an oasis to sleep.
Finally, the Chiurah, (Chupacabratherium rex) are a roughly Jaguar-sized animal that like the Tumu'ektau, doesn't possess fur. These animals are fully carnivorous, as it newly-formed jointless third leg is used to leap at a high distance to hunt it's main prey, the Tumu'ektau. J'noo fables use them for traditional horror stories.
