Trusted mechanic for newer car

Hey everyone, I personally don't live in Burbank anymore but my parents still do. They got quoted $2k in repairs for their 2021 Mazda from the Mazda dealer in Glendale and was curious if anybody has a trusted independent shop I can point them to. Doesn't have to be in Burbank but preferably in the valley area. Thanks!

New to MTB'ing, bike buying advice

What's up guys, looking to get into mountain biking. I've been riding road bikes for the last ten or so years but looking to get out of it because the roads are just too dangerous where I live now. Wanting to get a full sus bike for the trails out where i'm at and wanted to know if there is anything I need to stay away from brand/groupset wise. I'd like to buy locally because I know very little about mountain bike groupsets and what's good and what isn't. Trying something out in person and testing sizing would be better than blind buying a complete bike on the internet.

I've got a $4k budget and came across a 2025 Cannondale Habit 1 and 2022 Santa Cruz Bronson, both from local bike shops at the same price. I'd still need to grab pedals, helmet, shoes, etc. That isn't tied into my $4k budget but it helps if this bike works out that I could buy everything and be right around the $4k mark. The Bronson has a SRAM NX drivetrain vs the GX on this Cannondale. I may not even be able to tell the difference from the jump but if i'm gonna spend the same amount of money i'd like to buy the bike with the best parts. I know the Bronson is a mullet versus the full 29er on this Cannondale. I'm going to test ride them both, but again, being new I may not even be able to tell the difference riding these bikes around a parking lot or down the street on a test ride. Any advice would be appreciated. Specs on the Bronson are below and the link for the cannondale is below as well. Thanks!
