Are you still trying to decide between BITS Pilani degree and IIT Madras degree? Read this post..

I am a first year student at Scaler School of Technology and this was the topic that everyone was confused about last year, So i dont want you guys to be confused to what to choose and thus i will give you my thoughts and advice over this.

Starting with IIT Madras:

  1. The degree you get is Bachelor of Science (BS) in Data Science and Applications.
  2. You get the Brand name and tag which is what drove most people to take this degree last year.
  3. Slightly cheaper than the BITS degree. and you can financial benefits here.
  4. The exams will be conducted in actual exam centres so will have to travel everytime there will be exams (frequent).

Now about BITS Pilani:

  1. The degree you get is Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons.) in Computer Science.
  2. BITS is still a very reputed institution and in the end it comes to preference in this field.
  3. 3.Slightly more expensive than IIT. harder to get financial benefits.
  4. But the best thing is that the exams you can give at the Scaler Campus or online from your room which makes it substantially less hectic.

I personally chose Bits Pilani over IIT Madras because i did not want to make my schedule more hectic as i did not want to travel to the exam center every now and then and also yeah one more thing, the course for BITS Pilani is a lot easier than the course for IIT Madras
.

If You are planning to register for the NSET exam, you can also use the refer code ARIYD8B6 which gives ₹500 off on the registration fee. (you can also refer to this website for more information --> Scaler NSET Guide )

If you're someone exploring college options or considering SST as an option or backup, feel free to ask questions and I'll try to answer based on my experience.

If you are curious about Scaler School of Technology, read this...

Hello friend,

So last year around this time i gave my NSET exam and right now i am writing this from the campus of Scaler. I wanted to make this post to help anyone who is doing some research about Scaler and might consider joining as I was once on this path myself.

So you either gave NSET or are planning to give it. (For those who dont know what NSET is, it is the exam you have to give to get in Scaler) And now you want to know is Scaler even worth joining? so Lets begin.

Okay first, How is the Course? So my opinion -> its good, from first year first sem we started with DSA and Dev (also maths) and to me that seems a lot better than starting out with GK on CS or chemistry etc..

How are the teachers? Decent but dont rely completely on them. You are not here to be spoon fed. You have to have that curiousity in you or else this is not for you. You can stop reading this post.

Okay so if you chose to continue, then congrats you are already ahead of those who stopped. Now how is the hostel and accomodations? Honestly, they are good. You have double, double large and triple room options and rooms themselves come equipped with a washroom so yeah. (oh btw for the NSET exam use ARIYD8B6, you get 500 off)

How is the peer group ? You will find all sorts of folk here (i said that in a good way) and i am sure you will be able to find people whose interests aligns with yours.

How is the food? meh ;)

How is Banglore itself? (campus is in Banglore, E city for those who dont know) GOOD.

Anything else you should know? U dont get Btech, You get Bsc from either BITS PILANI or IITM. ALSO fees is HIGH so yeah. Consider these factors. Anyways, i hope this post helped you.
If you have any questions you can reach out to me!
