Question about SF86 from an intern
Hi all I recently accepted TJO for a job that requires a secret clearance. This is a couple months ago and I filled out my SF 86. I recently had a meeting with the security officer and he notified me that they would be contacting my current job and calling my current manager to verify employment.
For context this job with the government is not supposed to start until two months from now. And I’m currently working in the private sector in tech. And I have a lease for those remaining months.
I’m just wondering what people normally do in this situation— they will be calling my manager within the next week or two and I’m assuming assuming as soon as my manager hears that I’m cooked at my current job and I’m gonna be unemployed so what am I supposed to do between now and then? Also, there’s the risk that something happens with the security clearance and then I don’t even get the job.
