Demolition job 20/hr in manhattan 5pm-12 am Monday - Friday

This is how much I’m getting paid. Is this a fair wage? Feels like I’m being underpaid. Not sure if this is considered standard for a laborer.

EDIT: I’m not part of any union. This is in NYC Manhattan in a commercial building on 5th Ave.

No felonies, US citizen. Normally I’d be hanging drywall for $200 a day or painting. But shits been rough and there hasn’t been much work. This is some random Refferal contractor who we’ve only been working for 3 weeks. He hasn’t paid us in 2 weeks. He’s also super bossy and picky and treats his employees like shit treats everyone like he’s the king and everyone is his servant. When he’s just some contractor.

I can’t afford a professional paint job.

I don’t have an air compressor or any paint gun.

I’ll be using spray cans that I paint matched to the best of our ability at an auto paint supply store.

The paint job will be done in Austin Texas weather so maybe around 80-90° outdoors. I will paint the car earlier in the morning if it’s cooler outside if that’s better for the paint.

I’m going to be repainting the front passenger door,

Rear passenger door, gas cap, and hood.

Also there is a pinstripe design on the car as well that I would like to keep because this car has sentimental value from a deceased relative and I don’t want the car to look like crap.

I did try to paint it already in the past and it started peeling and bubbling a week later. So I’m on here asking for advice because I don’t have the funds to get it professionally redone, but I can’t let this car look like this.

Attached I have photos of when I was trying to respray and what some of the parts came out looking like. The cracked paint is what it looked like after a week or two. I know I should sand down and respray the whole panel. I’m just trying to not make the same mistake again.

Should I use a sealer this time?

I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube tutorials but a lot recommend different things.

I appreciate any and all advice thank you!
