if i have to focus on overall growth development (startup cuture , exposure , opportunities) ..what should i join?

what's up with the party culture in manipal...like it's in every college. but if i don't want to do all those things. will i ever get to meet those kind of people or will anyone force me? or do something wrong? do boys misbehaves with girls? can they ever enter girl's hostel anyhow? or do girls misbehave with any other girl? and is manipal really bad as it's shown on internet? what positive opportunities i can get as compared to any local college?
