New post: The Markdown Link no. 29

Today’s links include markdown editors Brainio, Tokyo Notes and Nota. Plus a look at MarkMello, a markdown viewer with a built-in editing mode, and Zim Wiki, which is described as a graphical text editor

Nota: with a handful of exceptions, this is the best markdown editor I have come across

New post: The Markdown Link no. 28

Today’s links include markdown editors Plain Text Editor and Clearly, plus Herbert, a writing environment for long-form content. We also cover Blank, an open source blog app, and Quik, which allows you to speak your notes and export them as markdown

Clearly has some great features, but there are a number of minor issues that deter me from ditching my current editor

New post: The Markdown Link no. 27

A day earlier than originally planned, but something came up…

ZenNotes is like Obsidian, but open source

Among today’s links are markdown editors Markpad, ZenNotes, Memos and an update from Binderus. Plus there’s a quick look at Albireo, a flat-file CMS

This is the app Obsidian didn’t want you to know about, claiming this post was shilling.

ZenNotes is open source, unlike Obsidian. It’s free, like Obsidian. It syncs, like Obsidian (iCloud et al.), not proprietary. Plus it looks good out of the box. The only thing it doesn’t do is tasks, but that’s what you have a to-do app for, isn’t it?

Note: I am not the developer, not earning any commission, not affiliated in any way to the developer. I’m just passing on what I see as a good app.

See more on r/mdhandbook on Monday, 4 May.

Today’s links are markdown editors Cyberwriter, Wrangle and t-ext, and markdown viewer Mdterm. Plus a quick look at Nisus Writer Pro, a word processor I first used it back in the 1990s

Despite the dated look of its website, Nisus Writer Pro is a step up from MS Word

Markset is a macOS utility that first renders a markdown file in Finder’s QuickLook preview and then allows you to export it as a typeset PDF

Today’s links include markdown editors Mark Us Down, Nimbalyst, Sveltemark, Markoun and ReText. Plus there’s static site generator Zensical and a nifty little macOS utility called Markset
