Hello, the e-visa website was down for a while. It is now back online, but I am flying in three days. The site states that I should not travel until the visa is approved. However, I am eligible for a visa on arrival (Italian and American passports). I have not applied yet.

What is the actual approval time for the e-visa? I have seen people say it can be instant, but the official information says up to seven days.

Also, if I apply now and do not receive a response in time, can I still fly to Zimbabwe? Or will there be a conflict with my e-visa once I arrive and apply in person?

Hello, I have invested since 2017, and I am not happy with how things are going.
I started the redemption request process, and I want to better understand the numbers.

Below are my numbers rounded up.
My account value is around $24k.
Real estate is around $10k
Private credit is around $7k
IPO is around $7k

When requesting the liquidation, it shows an estimated proceeds of $16k ($1k less than the real estate + private credit). I have Approx. penalty 0%. And it does not include any of the IPO shares.

Why am I not getting an estimated proceeds of $17k?

Hey everyone,

I relied heavily on this sub to plan my recent trip to Costa Rica, so I wanted to return the favor and share what I learned!

I just got back from a 10-day trip covering Pacuare → La Fortuna → Monteverde → Guanacaste. There is so much scattered info online, so I tried to condense everything into one place.

I put together a straightforward guide based on exactly what we did here: My 10-Day Costa Rica Itinerary.

PS: I'm definitely not claiming these are the absolute "best" places in all of Costa Rica! We unfortunately didn't make it to the Caribbean side, Tortuguero, or Corcovado on this trip.

Since other posts here helped me out so much, I hope this is useful to whoever is planning their trip. Happy to answer any questions in the comments!

Hello, I’m planning a 2-day hike at the end of June with one night at North Dome. I’ll be going with a friend who has solid experience.

I’d prefer to skip the tent and travel as light as possible, ideally just using a sleeping pad and sleeping bag. I had a couple of questions:

  1. What are the typical nighttime temperatures in June/July?
  2. Would sleeping without a tent put me at risk from bears?

I know a tent is the safer option, but I’m trying to understand if going without one is completely out of the question.
