I think the best part of this upcoming adventure is not planning it. I want to leave out of my garage in Illinois and ride the Katy Trail east to west until I get to Clinton. Hell, I'd keep going if it went to KC if someone tells me how. Then, I'll just ride back to Sedalia and catch the Amtrak home. My only concern is accomodations on the fly. This being my first bicycle tour, I'm not camping and I'm wondering if the various hotels listed on this very cool tool will have accomodations this time of year. TIA!

I remember the neutral bike not working out for Froome on Ventoux. I have questions about pedals, is everyone on SPD? Is it SRAM on Shimano on Canyon bikes? Always wonder about those bikes.
