I swear Thunder Bay drivers are built different. Dashcam footage

Thunder Bay has officially entered its “red lights are optional” era.

Blue Mazda almost smoked a pedestrian in front of Intercity Mall because apparently stopping at reds is too difficult now.

Some of y’all should not be allowed within 50 feet of a steering wheel.

Hypothetical legal question after a scary near miss today

Three clearly intoxicated people suddenly jaywalked right in front of an ambulance and then into my lane while traffic was slowing down. I was already braking and managed to stop in time, but if I had been going even a bit faster I probably would have hit them.

It got me wondering — legally speaking, what would actually happen in a situation like that in Ontario? Even if pedestrians are jaywalking or acting unpredictably, would the driver still end up charged or found at fault? Would insurance automatically go against the driver? Could there still be criminal or civil consequences even with dashcam footage?

Not looking to blame anyone, just genuinely curious because it shook me up a bit and made me realize how quickly something terrible could happen.
