She may not look like much but I reckon this may be the finest darn beatin' stick I ever did lay my eyes on

I'm sure this is small fry compared to some of the artifacts catalogued in the annals of history. But I cannot understate how satisfying it is to have basically perma berserk and perma stun on the same weapon. And being able to potentially hit up to 4x with backswing and single weapon fighting. I was originally going axes but this thing was so worth the switch. Ive never felt so unstoppable playing this game, so I figured now would be a good time to memorialize my favorite stick before I inevitably do something stupid and die tomorrow.

Marauder, level 5 mutation choice.

I took Double Muscled, Tripled Jointed, Two Hearts, Photosynthesis, and Temporal Fugue. With Tonic Allergy as my defect.

The goal is to just be a well rounded SWF stats monster. Gave myself an even stat spread to start, didn't want to dump stat on anything so that I can still maybe reach tinker 2 and also have a decently strong fugue.

I am torn because Regeneration and Photosynthesis together is REALLY strong, and would feel very in theme with the build. And it would make me not need to rely on tonics as much, since I took tonic allergy.

But of course, teleportation is also always strong and I assume would synergize really well with fugue in the hopes that my copies would play really aggressively with teleport.

Without endgame/lategame spoilers, I wonder what most people would advise is a better overall choice here.

DISCLAIMER: Metal Wing is obviously the best overall weapon currently, but I want to reiterate again that for the purpose of reroll discussion I'm excluding the banner weapons from this post.

-----

  1. The only other light element weapon in the game currently is the healing staff, which is not a viable weapon for pushing content (like shrines, hard mode, gauntlets, etc) since it doesn't even have a damaging cdg. And there is a lot of current progression content that includes Light weaknesses. Like Firebird gauntlet, Wrektor shrine, and a lot of late game hard mode content. Light in general is one of the most common weaknesses in the game right now, and this is currently the only weapon that can exploit that.

  2. Best CDG. Dropping a tactical nuke on yourself is easy to use and is more effective than the majority of the projectile based CDGs 90% of the time. And the attack speed buff means that it's probably the only weapon that will continue to see use in future sets as well. I am aware that Falcon Blade has the strongest CDG currently, however swords in the current meta are generally not worth using. And the Falcon Blades lackluster ULT makes it not even worth carrying on a secondary party member just to switch for CDG casts. If in the future swords get an S tier support ULT like Boing! Falcon Blade could be usable, but for now its highly overrated.

  3. On that note, Queen's Whip also has arguably the best ULT as well. Unlike Platinum Plume's "Dark Sword of Damocles", it doesn't require a status condition to activate, and it also activates per zap sword hit rather than just once. And between Wrektor soul, Strength Ring, and also some tier 2 weapons it's very easy to have multiple stacks of Zap Blade before the mission even starts. Fire Blade's ULT is a close second imo, but it has limited use in boss content whereas Queen's Discipline is either good or BiS in all current content.
