XL2546X - There is clearly something wrong with this monitor (Subtle sluggishness etc).

I've had this monitor for about a year now, and during that time I've replaced pretty much my entire setup, peripherals, platform, GPU, etc. (currently running a 9800X3D + RTX 5070 Ti).

However, the same issue has remained the entire time: a persistent feeling of sluggishness and subtle "micro-stuttering".

I've tested multiple other displays in the meantime, including OLEDs 4K 240hz, 1440p 360hz/500hz monitors. I still personally prefer 25" 1080p for competitive gaming, so I keep coming back to this monitor, but every time I do, something feels really off.

The best way I can describe it is that motion clarity and frame delivery don't feel fully coherent or smooth. Even at 240Hz, mouse panning feels slightly choppy or uneven, almost like there's a very fine layer of micro-jitter during horizontal movement, i'm not experiencing any FPS drops, and it doesn't feel like an FPS drop. There's no tearing, and frametimes looks perfectly flat, but the motion itself doesn't feel truly smooth.

What's strange is that when I switch back to a older 240Hz IPS monitors, the issue completely disappears. It immediately feels smoother and more natural. Because of that, I'm starting to wonder if this panel is simply struggling to keep up properly with its refresh rate behavior or overdrive tuning.

I experimented quite a bit with AMA settings:

  • AMA Premium makes motion look a bit smoother/less jittery, clearly.
  • OD Custom 21 feels slightly more responsive, but it becomes harsher

This specific model was also pulled from sale fairly quickly, and I've since seen many reports about dead pixels (my unit has some as well), so I'm curious if there may have been broader QC or panel behavior issues with this model.

For context, I mainly play Apex Legends and Overwatch, and I genuinely do not experience this sensation on my other monitors. On this one specifically, tracking and reaction timing feel noticeably worse, almost as if motion feedback is slightly delayed or inconsistent.

Quick note: the DyAc 2 on this monitor also clearly doesn't impress me, I don't understand, especially on Apex, 240FPS constant and I don't necessarily see better with it, I mean, I get the impression that the crosstalk management isn't great.

What's the difference between XL2546X+ and XL2540X+ ? - The last one doesn't have strobing?!

As the title says, what’s actually the difference between the XL2546X+ and the XL2540X+?

On the official ZOWIE website, it says the XL2540X+ does NOT support strobing/DyAc, yet multiple people keep telling me that the XL2540X+ clearly has DyAc 2.

So now I’m completely confused.

What exactly is the point of buying the XL2546X+ if the XL2540X+ is supposedly almost the same monitor, but around €140 cheaper?

Right now, it genuinely makes no sense to me.

I don't understand Chinese, but apparently, according to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAEUb-UHGJA, if I understood correctly, the XL2540X+ has the DyAc2 and extra accessories (remote, shield etc), then WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE lol?! 💀
