Another “I don’t know what I’m doing wrong” posts
Like many people who post on here, I‘m seeing advice because I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
For starters: I’m fit. I’m muscular due to consistent weight training for 2 years. Doctors say my vitals/blood pressure/whatever is great. Of course, this is still technically overweight (5’3, 157 lbs, 31” waist, 39” hips). I want to lose weight, and I think I’m making good progress (started at 165) earlier last month.
I’ve done everything people in this subreddit recommend. Calculated my TDEE (around 2,200 - 2,700) based on weight lifting 6x a week and running 2-3x + occasional power yoga.
Started off at 1,200 when I was not properly informed, upped that steadily to 1,800-2,000. I eat around 90-110 grams of protein a day (chicken, tofu, eggs, tempeh, some red meat, lox, sardines) and 20-40 g of fiber. I eat most of my daily carbs for dinner (either rice, couscous, rice noodles, potatoes, or maybe whole wheat bread) and a bit for lunch.
Problem is, I’m FAMISHED. I don’t understand. I was able to sustain 1,300 better than I can 1,800. Why am I so fucking hungry?
If I eat more protein, I’m way over budget. If I eat less fiber, I don’t feel as good as when I eat the daily recommended amount. If I try to eat more carbs, I never get enough of fiber or protein. and, yes I get plenty of fats.
I fast for 12 hours, the times usually vary. Sometimes it’s 11 - 11, otherness it’s 9 -9, sometimes 7 - 7etc. I try to eat lunch late so I can cure my starvation without going over my calorie budget.
Is there anything else I could be missing? Why is 1,800 seemingly leaving me famished??? I simply just don’t understand.
