Is there a single fucking website on goddamn earth with a usable search function

Everything has been fucking destroyed by SEO and ai. It is fucking impossible to search anything anywhere for anything without being bombarded by ads or generated articles.

What is the likelihood of a real engine oil shortage?

Been seeing stuff around about how they’re going to run out of actual motor oil is there any truth to this? I usually buy it by the drum for work should I stock up? Will it be a long term shortage?

How do you embed links now?

You used to be able to do [this](link here) but now it doesn’t work. How do you embed links? Markdown doesn’t work anymore?

Went to lunch with my [coworkers](https://www.reddit.com/r/TrueAnon/comments/1t1sms2/new_kid_at_work_was_literally_watching_some_anime/ ) the other day and got some more horrific insights into the current youths mindset. Now for reference I’m 27. I grew up with an internet connection far earlier than I should have, so I’m not some old man shaking my fist at a cloud.

Anyways the topic of AI comes up. This mother fucker says verbatim “it can improve everyone’s lives.” He explains how he is thoroughly of the opinion that people who don’t use it just don’t understand it or are afraid of progress. We work at a very small automotive shop and he was even saying how our boss should use it. I didn’t even bother asking for what.

Anyways (god damn I open every paragraph with anyways…) one of the incredible technologies he says is powered by AI is this [Ghost Murmur](https://nypost.com/2026/04/07/us-news/ghost-murmur-a-never-used-secret-tool-deployed-to-find-lost-airman-in-iran-in-daring-mission/) technology that they used to find the downed pilot in Iran. He explains this to us by using just the ai overview of the google search, which even said reported,” implying it may or may not exist. When I ask him about that word he didn’t seem too bothered. We also asked him how it works and he says the ai basically can pick out the electromagnetic pulse of a heartbeat from everything else to find a human being.

Now me and my other coworkers first obvious observation with this is that the AI isn’t the real incredible thing ostensibly happening with this technology, it’s whatever instrument is so precise that it can even pick up a human heartbeat through the rocks and bushes and buildings. I said well maybe what the AI does is sort what would be an incomprehensible amount of data such an instrument would receive and make it usable, but if that was the case I think the real technological scientific breakthrough would be the instrument itself not the data sorting algorithm. I mean think of it’s picking up the heartbeat of a human being 30 miles away that mother fucker could probably tell you what a mosquito had for lunch from 3.

Well he kinda dug his heels in and insisted that this story was true. The thing that broke me was he showed me [this picture](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/DkmHh6eZoZs/maxresdefault.jpg) as if it was indicative of how this machine actually worked and wasn’t just, like, an artists rendering of a ship from Star Wars in a book you got from the book fair in 5th grade. I kinda just lost steam at that point but then he said “what you don’t like debating?” And I just kinda lost steam at that point I didn’t want to eat up our entire break arguing past each other.

The fascinating thing about these new type guys is that they exist in a sort of schrodingers state of skepticism. You never know what they are critical or skeptical of until you ask, but once you do there is no middle ground or room for education. That cat is fucking dead buddy. We’ve had brief conversations in the past where he’s kind of said about how he doesn’t trust a lot of things just because you are supposed to, yet when I tried to shake his belief on this ai shit at all he was unflappable. His belief stemmed from some interview he saw on Rogan (though he was not a fan) from some ex CIA agent who was talking about this stuff. I didn’t even try to ask him how he believed they’d let a guy like that lose, or ask him what reasons he would have to release such information. He also said pizzagate was real which I’m sure would have been an absolute slog of a conversation.

To close this out, at one point in the conversation a sort of mask slipped a bit and I think I saw the origins of it all. He said that during Covid he had no one to talk to and was extremely lonely, and how it fucked up his whole high school experience, and made him graduate early. He got suddenly quite sincere and said that he believed that AI could’ve help people like him then. Absolutely brutal stuff. Now I’m not going to sit here and debate the ethics of chat bots with someone who is clearly emotionally invested in them on my lunch break, let alone a coworker, but man. Man oh man.

Things are so unbelievably bleak in this world. People worshipping the very things that are utterly destroying us. It’s like the guys in Fallout 3 in that first town that worship the undetonated bomb. Like the fucking [Harlow Monkeys](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry\_Harlow)clinging to the cloth that their tormentors put in the cage for them.

Go talk to a young person in your life and make sure they don’t go fucking insane. Who knows how fucked up kids even younger are going to be. I can’t imagine what kind of damage a 12 year old with this kind of poison would do to themselves. Calling it technology doesn’t even feel fitting. Would you call the gas ch@mbers at the camps technology, or call them what they are? Do we call Zyklon B a pesticide, or what it was used for?

Fuck these people, fuck their poison, and fuck what they are doing to this world.

Ended up having one of the most brutal conversations of my life. Bro was talking about how he doesn’t like real women anymore cause they are too much work and watching hentai and anime is easier. He also showed us some anime that was about some guy that got r*ped and then got his revenge by r@ping all the people that did it to him. And the funny thing is this guy had some very conventionally attractive ex girlfriends. Now by his own admission he’s an extremely depressed shut in and just watches anime and games all day.

The obsession with anime in our youth is absolutely detrimental. It is an infantile medium that relies on extremely basic plot mechanisms and such literal telegraphing of the characters intentions and emotions that it stunts people. When every characters motivations have to be spelled out word for word in an audible self monologue, you don’t have to do any thinking for yourself or understand the motivations of characters. Beyond that I’ve never heard or seen of one that wasn’t just about some sort of fighting, and leveling up or training to get better at whatever from of fighting they are doing.

Beyond that, it all seems very porn/gooner adjacent. Chick that this young man was watching had enormous tits. Combine the baby level plot lines and having people who have self inflicted autism from destroying their capacity to think by watching translated cartoons with hyper fantastic pornography and you really have just absolute poison in people’s brains.

I’m not writing it off as a genre as a whole. I think as an art form it can do interesting things, but at the end of the day you have to remember it is generally an art form for largely horny babies.
