Do I (still) need to side load apple music on a DMP A6 Gen ii?

Hi All,

Looking at adding a DMP A6 gen 2 to my system (Musical fidelity A2 class a amp into Tannoy SRM10B speakers) to us as a DAC for my CD transport as well as Streaming lossless high resolution Apple Music/Apple Classical.

There is a lot of information (old?) about needing to side-load an android Apple Music app into the A6 as the native Eversolo Apple Music app apparently doesn't support High res streaming.

I emailed Eversolo (very responsive!) :

Please tell me if the A6 has Native Apple music support and can stream lossless High-resolution files direct from Apple music. Can I use the Eversolo app to stream Apple Music or do I need to use the iPhone apple music app?

Their response was:

Yes, you can directly use Apple Music app on Eversolo device, and it can stream lossless High-resolution files.

Here is a link to our guide on using Apple Music. You can take a look first:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oZWctXUyABxMm0dJXsQjMOiNr2OgHgDI/edit

Would someone please confirm that this now works - flawlessly in high resolution lossless for Apple Music?

If so - will the Eversolo APP for the iPhone control the A6 AND specifically Apple Music or do I do track selection etc (ie apple music) all from the front panel? As an aside - does the EVOTUNE room correction actually work reasonably well?

Appreciate any input. The A6 otherwise ticks all my boxes :D

Cheers

I've been destroyed by my Nephew's system....

No pictures I'm afraid.

Visited my nephew after several years.

He is running - a Rega Planar rp10 turntable (not sure what cartridge) into Devialet Expert Pro 440s set up as dual mono-blocks driving a pair of Focal Sopra speakers.... [Edit to add - I had not heard of the brand of Amp or speakers before - may be an age related thing ;-) ]

We listened to a nice pressing of a jazz vocal combo and it was AMAZING! (yes - amazing before I saw what he was running it on!). Sound stage was immense and the clarity/definition next level - and then some. Hard to describe really

No idea what he paid for the system but I figure well north of $80K in Australia.

Came home to MY Ariston RD80 turntable (1988)with a Ortofon MC20 MkII cartridge into an Ortofon passive SUT and then a Musical Fidelity A2 class a Amplifier (1998) into Tannoy SRM 10B dual concentric speakers (1983). It's nice - but not THAT nice! lol

He's destroyed me :D

Hope this is the right place!

I have a "Musical Fidelity Class A integrated Amplifier" That I bought new in 1998 and have used quite a lot since.

However, after a few (3) years of NOT using it I attempted to play a CD - immediately got a LOUD/distorted noise from the speakers and immediately I shut it off.

NOW it is 'silent'.

It powers on (and heats up - normally)

I get a hum from the speakers if I turn the gain right up

I have tried all the line inputs with no effect

Tried different sources in case that was the issue.

Confirmed all cables are connected properly and functioning.

No - it does not have a MUTE button. :D

I am planning to submit it for service / assessment but do wonder what on earth might have happened to it. Has the input stage 'blown'? Capacitor gone? Easy fix?

Its a nice Amp with a sound I like - Fingers crossed it's repairable.

Appreciate your thoughts!
