Asics to Altra and hip discomfort

Hi

Question on transitioning to Altras.

I switched from asics nimbus to Altras fwd via. Since I've been using them my hip pops and I feel discomfort. Never had hip issues before.

I understand an adjustment period is required with switching to 4mm drop (previously wrote zero drop). But this is taking a bit longer than expected. Ive been using them for a month, and it doesn't seem im going to adapt.

Before I switch back to asics, has anyone else had hip issues switching to altras and was able to get over it?

Note, at first I was fine. I had no issues with them and thought it was a pretty good transition. Good shoe, and enjoying the wider toe box. Perhaps it could have been the combination of new hiking boots not broken in yet and switching to Altras.

Edit: adding information to provide more context.

- Currently running only 8 km per week in 1 run with the Altras.
I had started by only doing a few 2 - 4 k runs with them initially. Other days I bike.

As the weather gets nicer, I typically start moving towards my 20+k light trail runs on the weekends, while running / biking to work during the week.

- Specs on the Altra FWD via I have Cushioning: Neutral, Drop: 4 mm, Stack Height: 37 mm
- Specs on the last pair of Asics Gel-Nimbus I had: Cushioning: maximum-cushioning neutral, Drop: 8 mm, Stack Height: 41.5mm (Heel) / 33.5mm (Forefoot)
- Specs on snow/ice winter running shoes, ASICS Men's Gel-FujiSetsu 3 GTX, Cushioning: High, Drop: 10 mm, Stack Height: N/A

- Other shoes I wear, MOAB3 hiking boots, my old Asics Nimbus as going out and about, old skate shoes for archery, and an adult aesthetic sneaker.
