I'm a newb when it comes to Kayaks so please enlighten me, my main purpose is saltwater 100%, never going to touch freshwater. So i need something that can handle that, it'll be in SW FL bridges, maybe the keys, etc.. No beach surf launches or anything crazy like that.
From what i understand Hobie Pro Anglers seem to be the best of the best, i was trying to negotiate for one but the used market is crazy, they seem to go for 2 grand upwards and some are crazy sun faded but sellers don't budge, or cracked and repaired, etc.
My other option was skipping the pedal driven Pro Angler and going with a Ascent 12t, which is $599 for members at bass pro. Would this suit my purpose? I've read the 10 foot ascents are terrible stability wise, but no complaints with the 12 footers.. Or are there better options out there?
I'm completely fine with going up to $1,300 i just need options that will WORK for my need but there are so many different types of hull designs, weight capacities, i don't know what i need. I'd also like to just throw it on the back of the truck bed and strapping it in and going wherever, if i need to use a trailer, might as well buy a boat
If its of any importance, i'm 6 ft 0 inches and 250lbs
