Dentist didn't attach broken bracket

Hey everyone, I’m 1 month into my braces treatment (22M) and I’m a bit confused by my dentist’s approach.

I have a posterior crossbite where my lower teeth sit inside my upper set, and my jaw shifts to the side to find a comfortable bite. I recently broke a bracket on my upper right side (back tooth/molar area).

When I went in to get it fixed, the dentist refused to reattach it. He claimed the tooth is "already in the ideal position" and doesn't need movement. He just tightened the wire (which is now just floating over that tooth) and sent me home in 5 minutes.

I’m skeptical.

Don’t I need that tooth as an anchor to help widen the arch/fix the crossbite?

He didn't even check my bite or how my jaw is shifting before deciding the tooth was fine.

Has anyone else had a dentist just skip a tooth like this, especially when trying to fix a bite alignment/crossbite issue? Does this sound like a standard shortcut or should I be worried?
