A7V - first photos and thoughts.
I picked up the A7V a few days ago. Open box for $2,650 in the US.
I’ve been putting it through its paces the past couple of days. I’m thoroughly impressed. I’ve previously been using the A7IV which is an excellent camera which I will be keeping.
All of the wildlife photo were taken with the electronic shutter. I’m really impressed with the speed of the autofocus. It’s noticeably stickier than the IV.
Pre capture is tremendously fun to use but I’ll probably be turning its value to under 0.5 seconds which is the default. You end up with some many frames, it’s a pain to sort through.
Low light seems to work great. And overall the contrast and colors seem a little more true straight out of camera than I’m used.
Really looking forward to putting this to work in the next weeks and months to come!
