Clueless about everything

Right about this time of day I get the calls from Saudi students who can barely speak and apparently logged into Cambly on a whim with zero clue about anything!

Hey....I think I'll take a Business English class titled "User Experience" even though I don't know what User Experience is, don't work in tech or want to study Business English. The teacher will figure this all out for me even if I can't make a sentence in English because they are English teachers and that's what they do.

Go ahead and lower my rating Cambly, but I will be ending the lesson at the 4 minute mark and blocking because 2 minutes is not enough time to actually determine if a student can get their head out of their arse and actually somehow communicate to me what they want to do. Sometimes they can and other times it's hopeless.

For everyone out there concerned with their rating I'll tell you one thing....for the most part it's not on you, it's on Cambly and students who don't know what they are doing or even trying to do.

I'll be limiting my hours at certain times of the day to avoid this nonsense and unfair treatment and expectations of tutors.

Hi all....I'm well on my way to figuring out WP and starting a new blog. Here is a problem I have encountered twice now, that has caused me serious time and headaches as I play around with creating sites while learning.

I install a new theme (Astra, Wabi) and activate it. Then I see all the new controls in the Dashboard and site editor. The problem begins when I decide to change back to a different theme (Ollie) I still see the same settings from the old theme in the dashboard and in editing.

Are Astra and Wabi somehow different in nature from themes like 2024 or Ollie? Is there something I am missing here? Can I not revert back to an old theme?

I looked this up on Google and followed directions to delete plug ins etc and it broke my test site. I did it again (playing around with themes) and ended up reinstalling Local WP and WP. Everything is back to normal but I don't want this to happen again. OMG....Please advise in as simple language as possible....I'm not a tech person!

I want to apply and have experience teaching English. I know it's not a sure thing that I'll be accepted....but I am wondering about my current traveling situation if I do.

I'll be jumping back and forth between countries US/Mexico for the next few months. There is only a one hour time difference, but I'm wondering if that would cause problems if I have students and how that would affect my rating. I was also thinking of taking off the month of July because I'll be somewhere where the internet can be unstable. And....later this year, I'll be going back to Asia so there will be a big time difference.

So....I guess want to know is how to handle this kind of situation on Preply assuming I get hired. I'm still not exactly sure how the Preply system works but I did read where some people said they had a hard time getting students after hiding their profile.
