I don’t expect this to happen tomorrow or anything, however something I feel would be nice is the incorporation of war score and more in depth peace treaties
How it’ll work: at the end of the war, the two sides will look at the lines and all the land behind the winner’s line is up for grabs. They can either take all of that land, or just a portion based on either prior territory, or landscape (a certain type of land would be more likely than another. Other land wouldn’t be completely off the table but a nation would more likely want the best land they can get, that value dependent on what the dev decides) the nation would either annex, set up a vassal state (doesn’t necessarily mean vassal in game terms since there are more than one types of puppets but that’s the word I use) liberate a nation that used to be there, or a combination of the 3
“But how does war score play into this?”
I’m glad you asked. The way war score would work is the more of the other country’s land you’ve taken, the more pixels you can get from the treaty. However, your war score diminishes if your nation takes too long in an area without gaining more land, thus it’d have less power in the peace talks. Each demand would have a certain value.
-Do nothing and everything goes back to normal: No war score needed.
-Take land: That’s the lowest value, but depending on the land they want, the value could increase a bit. The way I see it happening is each pixel that was taken by the winner would be Worst land would be lowest value, best land (including cities, cores and capitols) would be highest.
-Liberate a nation: Second lowest value, since all you’re doing is freeing a nation, however it’s still a higher value than annexing X amount of pixels
-Set up a vassal: third lowest since it’s not only making a new nation, it’s making an extension of the winning nation.
-Full vassalization: highest war score (only possible if the initial capitol has been overrun)
These settings can of course be toggled to your taste and you can toggle the dynamic treaties off and keep winner takes all or nation just stops existing if you want.
It probably seems like an obvious one, but Lemme know if there’s something you’d like to add or if my idea’s just bad and I should feel bad.
I know jokuplle’s just one dude and not a god or a big dev team like paradox, but he has impressed us before so I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if he could do this (or I’m just easily impressed)
