Compensation in India is very low for average people which is why people want to immigrate to the US

I was looking at the PPO (pre placement offers) of students from top tier colleges in India (Tier 1 and Tier 2) and the compensation packages are very low. Median compensation of a software/electrical engineer is close to 15-20 LPA. This means Indian engineers will have low savings and lower income and naturally remain "poor". Now here come the American universities offering I-20 and admits to everyone with a pulse. All Indian students have to do is spend 30-40 lakhs which they can utilize either through a loan or through "Baap ka Paisa" or their own savings that they have accumulated by working for a few years.

This means Indians just won't stop invading the American soil on student visas (F-1) and overwhelm the American job market to the point where local people start worrying that their country will soon become Indian.

What do you think we Indians should do ? Donald Trump is trying his best by rejecting F-1 visas at the embassies in India. So are American employers by rejecting international students. But what can we Indians do to make sure we kill this "American Dream" amongst Indian youth ? my_qualifications

Hey everyone, wanted to get some community thoughts on my situation.

**Background:**

- Was on H-1B, got laid off January 2026

- Filed COS to F-1 with genuine intent to pursue a Master's degree (classes start August 2026, already enrolled)

- F-1 was approved

- Now actively job searching — if an offer comes through, the new employer would file a cap-exempt H-1B COS

**My concern:**

Since the F-1 was approved but classes haven't started yet, I'm worried USCIS could flag the H-1B petition under the **preconceived intent doctrine** — essentially questioning whether I ever truly intended to study or just used F-1 as a bridge while job hunting.

For context, I do have a detailed and specific statement of purpose on file that documents my academic rationale, and the prospective employer would be using an experienced immigration firm.

**Questions for the community:**

- Has anyone successfully gone through a similar H-1B → F-1 → H-1B transition?

- Did USCIS raise any preconceived intent concerns in your case?

- Any RFEs or denials on this basis that you've seen or heard of?

Not looking for legal advice — just want to hear real experiences. Thanks in advance!
