Context: During the draft for the Vietnam War those selected could apply as a "Conscientious Objector" (at least for some period of it, I think), avoiding conscription in exchange for having to do mandatory public service back home (if your application was approved, apparently it took quite a bit of effort to convince the government to not ship you off to war). George luckily got approved, but (as the title says) in the summer-long period of anxiety waiting to hear back if his objector status did or didn't go through, he binge wrote some of his very first stories to be commercially published in professional magazines. I (?F) recently immigrated to a new country currently in a turbulent political climate and took on a new job as a spiritual counselor to the rightful heir of its throne (35m), currently stolen by his 13m nephew who’s actually an inbred pretender with no blood relation to my boss. Im also convinced my new boss is the reincarnation of the messianic figure of my religion and have been telling him such, as well as convincing him to burn people alive and telling him about the visions I see whenever I stare straight into fire of his enemies (including his 21m younger brother) dead.
Well, my boss’ best friend and most leal subject (51m, they’ve been close ever since my boss chopped off his fingers) has been much and more than a little offput by my spiritual counseling and its effect on my boss, trying to argue against my ideas (which are actually my God’s ideas told to me through the aforementioned fire visions, and the flames do not lie). He was especially disturbed after my boss’ family doctor and aforementioned enemy/younger brother both died in mysterious circumstances. Still, even though he may argue against my ideas, my boss‘ still wins over him and he ultimately obeys.
Well, after the aforementioned 21m’s brother’s mysterious death in mysterious circumstances, my boss ordered his friend to ferry me over into the gates of my boss’ old home to deal with the guy holding it rn who said he won’t give my boss custody of his nephew (not the inbred one) (Don’t ask what my god intends for his nephew)
Either way my boss’ friend had his reservations but took me to the gate anyways. Where I then proceeded to take off my clothes, reveal I was magically heavily pregnant (I’m kinda into some witchy-core stuff don’t judge), and proceed to give birth to a shadow monster version of our boss right in front of him.
Boss’ friend has been acting even *more* uncomfortable and disturbed about me since. Has our chance at acquaintanceship been ruined? I looked into the flames and they said “Idk girl”. I hope I didn’t sour things too much I do think he’s pretty cute tbh. Am I the asshole?
