There is a large semi-hollow knot in the bottom limb. The bow surprised me with its speed and timing balance of the limbs having no noticeable hand shock. I’m shooting 23/64 arrows 32” long between 570-605 grains total.

This stave almost went to the firewood pile because of the location of a nasty knot on the surface. But instead, I figured there was something to be learned
here so I went to whittling. I have to say I’m very pleased with it.
That knot is 1 1/4” wide and 3/8” deep. I had to make the bow long to accommodate this and 2 more kinks in the other limb.
It’s 2 1/8” at the fades straight out to the knot. Then at the widest part of the knot it is 2 3/4” tapering hard to 3/8” at the nock. I matched the top limb to the bottom in profile and taper( minus the knot).
I anticipated a sluggish bow with very out of sync limbs because of the difference in mass between them as well as the stiff area of the knot. However I was mistaken about that. It shoots fast and the limbs feel well in tune with no hand shock. I will post video of me shooting it separately.
