After the latest patch, this last achievement will be the hardest to get.

After the latest patch, this last achievement will be the hardest to get.

All that remains of me is a percentage bar stuck at 98%.

I don't know if I can bring myself to get it. I hate tutorials so much. But add to that the fact that achievements are bugged, and yeah - I guess it's just not getting done. I wanted to like this game and play it some more, but after over 40 hours of gameplay the litany of bugs have just made it unbearable. Now that I can't get the achievement for the tutorial, I don't see the point in playing anymore - since I was only really playing it for achievements to begin with. I always thought to myself: "I'll just get it later." - never realized I had a clock. But I guess I should have known. Now I'll die knowing that I never reached The Finals, all because I skipped the tutorial.

APS & Glitch Gadgets (Goo-Gun Related)

Best Gun™

Cross-posting b/c my post in the main r/ is taking FOREVER to get approved. Probably my own fault for crashing out on a few dudes after goo nerf. Not a real shitpost. You can shitpost back if you desire, it's okay.

Everyone's freaking out about the upcoming goo nerf; personally, I've always felt like nerfs are lazy and feelsbad**™**. In goo's case, a 0.5-0.6 timer might still be warranted anyway. Maybe that, and an ammo nerf.

But still, I think there are lots of ways that we can change the game to make it 'less obnoxious', without ruining an entire playstyle. How about adding more counterplay items? Or altering the ones we already have to be more viable in terms of counterplay? For example, we could...

Alter APS: Either give it 2 charges, or let it block 2x the goo. This adds easy situational counterplay, makes the APS slightly more viable and will ensure it sees a lot more use (since right now it's a round 2 pick at best).

Add/change glitch items: How about a glitch item for heavy? Or make Glitch Trap multi-class, but only 1 out at a time?

Add other kinds of counterplay: A light gadget that disables specializations (not the nullifier)? Maybe it could hack people at a short distance (even through walls[?]), but take time to use? Or, in that same vein, you could have a gadget that you turn on via terminal - like thermals - which disables specializations for everyone in a range of, idk, say 8-12m?

Admittedly, not all of these are good suggestions - heck, maybe you feel none of them are. But that doesn't mean that you don't have some good suggestions! I personally feel some of these could work well, even with a nerf along the lines of what I mentioned at the start.

Given everything else that I've seen this week, I'm sure some of you will get on just to say 'x' or 'y' idea is dumb, or that 'stun gun just unfun'. If that's what you wanna say, fine. I've been kind of uncivil myself since 10.3; I just get so passionate about my baby, and others do too. Frankly it's good to see so much passion, even if it is vitriolic at times. But I would like to challenge you to say something else. Something that hasn't been said before.

Let's not destroy existing playstyles; it makes the game more boring and unoriginal! Instead, let's think of ways that we can improve the versatility of the metagame - and give embark some cool new ideas to think about. Simply put, let's ADD to our favourite game - rather than SUBTRACT.

Thanks for the read, and GLHF/GGWP on your way to reaching The Finals!
