To the Stanford crowd as we gear up for Day 3

To the two girls to my left on D1 that were super quiet, but were so cute when you nervously handed me freebies (it's a beautiful bracelet!), danced the mic drop choreo in tiny, and waved your ARMY bombs in tiny while mouthing all the words - you girls are queens. Thanks for being part of the fandom.

To the Stanford student to my right on D1 who didn't know anything about BTS but came on a whim to check out the hype. You came not knowing anything about BTS, spent the first 3 songs with your mouth open, filmed the rest of it to show your friends, and then left after asking me for song recs - welcome to the fandom. I didn't see you D2 but hope to see you tonight! Oh and thank you for nodding supportively when I went on a 2 min rant about how crazy it is that RM's first solo mixtape is not on Spotify.

To the grandmas behind me on D2 who didn't yell, didn't stand up, but were waving your v2 ARMY bombs while dressed in hanboks - you've gone past queens into legends. And to your male escorts who were not BTS fans but helped you up and shielded you as you left the stadium - we love supportive kings. Thanks for bringing the older fans in your lives to the concert so they could watch our Bangtan Boys.

To the girl behind me that was screaming her lungs out on D2 and knew all the words (including the Korean) and was dancing super hard - no notes. Thanks for being part of the fandom.

To my brother who came with me on both nights who is not ARMY, but came to share in a moment that was super important to his older sister - thanks for waving the ARMY bomb I bought you, for filming so I could just vibe (even though you kept swiveling around because you had no idea who was singing next), for laughing at me whenever I sang a lyric right in your face, for screaming when I screamed even though you didn't know the fan chants, and for getting up at 4:30am so we could catch the flight home so I could be at work Monday morning even though you normally don't get up until 10 or later.

Stanford crowd - you guys were gems on both nights. And now as we gear up for Day 3 (yes I'm flying in again to attend the concert and then leaving on the 6:30am flight tomorrow morning), let's keep that up. Welcome to all old, new, and soon to be ARMY!

Edit: In case anyone is looking for a laugh - this is how my non ARMY brother identifies the members:

  • RM (but only if he's in the leather jacket - can't figure out who he is otherwise)
  • Super Tuna / B&B guy
  • The parents dude ("like your parents, my heart hurts every time I see you" - iykyk)
  • Jope (also apparently Hooligan is a j-hope solo song to him)
  • Jimin (but only if his hair is long - doesn't recognize him if he's blonde with short hair)
  • The guy who talks about what he did the day before (he laughed so hard when V said that in the live viewing)
  • B&B guy (he cannot tell Jin/JK apart to save his life)

He was also really sad when I told him there's like a 0.0000000000001% chance they'd play Super Tuna. He straight up loves that song and can do the choreo.
