I’m starting a niche snail mail club and designing original artwork for monthly mail-outs. I’m wondering whether it’s worth offering the first 20 people a free sample/taster pack to get feedback and hopefully generate interest for a paid subscription later, even if it means absorbing the initial costs myself.

I’d be advertising to a very specific target audience rather than broadly marketing it.

Does this sound like a sensible launch strategy, or is it better to wait for paying subscribers from the start?
