How do you save data usage? (Starlink roaming)
I sometimes use Starlink in roaming and I’m trying to cut down on data usage. Most of what I do is play online games — and as long as they’re not downloading updates, they barely use any data. I can easily stay under ~1GB/week just gaming.
The problem is everything else. Background apps seem to eat a ton of data for no good reason. I’m on Android + Windows 11. I’ve already disabled updates, turned on data saver, etc., but somehow my phone can just sit idle for a day and still burn ~100MB.
Windows data saving is basically a joke. I do use NetLimiter there to block stuff, which helps.
Is there anything similar for Android that actually works?
Ideally I’d want some kind of router-level solution so I don’t have to tweak every device individually. I know MikroTik can do traffic filtering, but it looks way too complicated for a normal user.
Are there any simpler / more user-friendly options?
