How is it so many people cannot understand the difference between “loose” & “lose”?

I have no idea why but this is one of my biggest pet peeves. Reading “loose” in a sentence where it is supposed to be “lose” feels like someone is peeling the membrane off my eyeballs.

Is it a lack of education or a lack of caring? I don’t understand.

My larger male keeps “mating” my other male in their pool

This is just trying dominance, right? I’m afraid he may hurt my smaller goose because he is an African goose and my smaller male is Toulouse.

Is there anything I should do to intervene?
