Just been cleared to come off crutches at 3 weeks post-op

How common is this? I’m 3 weeks post hamstring graft + LET, I just had my first follow-up meeting with my surgeon and he says I’m progressing well enough to stop wearing my brace and come fully off crutches and start walking unassisted.

I mean, obviously he knows best so I’m going to trust him, it just seems wayyy earlier than I was expecting. From what I’ve read on here most people don’t come off crutches till the 6 week-ish mark (for reference I had no meniscal damage)

Can I achieve a basic level of fluency in a year?

For context, I recently tore my ACL and had surgery (about 3 weeks post op) so I’m set for a long summer staying indoors and I’ve had to give up playing sports for the near future.

One thing I’ve always wanted to do is learn Italian (my mum is Sicilian but born in the uk) is it possible for me to learn Italian in 1 year?

I’ve just completed the free 30 days course from Italy Made Easy on YouTube, and I’ve had a couple online lessons from a tutor, plus I’ve been using Duolingo everyday since Christmas.

My current plan is to sign up for the full online course of Italy made easy which has about 360 hours of content, and do 1 hour per day. Plus a weekly lesson with a tutor and Duolingo every day just to learn vocabulary.

I also heard that passive immersion is good, so when I go back to work I plan to just have random Italian shows or podcasts playing in my headphones in the background so I can unconsciously get used to it.

My question is, is this a realistic plan? For those who’ve used it is Italy Made Easy good, or is there anything else I should be doing. Any advice is welcome.

Grazie Mille!
