I received two female budgies in december. They were my first birds so I’m still learning how to care for them and stuff.
I’m not sure why but last week one of them got sick and died yesterday (the green one) I found her lying feet up on the bottom of their cage and after inspecting her for a few minutes, she stopped moving.
I’m at school most of the day and I was counting on the fact that they can entertain each other while I’m not home but now, on top of loneliness, I’m scared my little blue bird will become depressed after the loss of her friend
I think she has started plucking her feathers but I’m not 100% sure.. maybe she’s just cleaning herself and I’m being paranoid, I don’t know. But she does it kind of aggressively
I started playing budgie noises for her, I’m gonna buy some more toys and stuff and while I’m at school I move her cage downstairs so she can be around my mom
I thought about getting another bird but I only want do that in about two months once I finish school and have more time to invest in them.
Does anyone have any tips? how can I cheer my girl up? I really don’t want to lose her
