Captain’s sweater on backwards

After using his sweater as a makeshift distress flag in the Red Sea Sharks, Captain Haddock puts it on again backwards. This follows some comedic shenanigans with jellyfish and arguments drinking sea water and is another funny touch I never noticed before.

Thanks to one of the commentators on the recent episode of Tintin Podcast for mentioning it!

Thompson and Thomson themselves? 😂 It seemed curious to me that they would specify there were two detectives involved. Playing it off as if it was someone else is shifty for sure but have the Thompson twins always been completely honest?

Right after the events of Red Rackham’s Treasure, we see at the beginning of The Seven Crystal Balls that Calculus is already living with the Captain at Marlinspike Hall. When Tintin visits, Calculus suggests that Tintin could stay there as well, which implies it’s at least an option. However, Tintin declines, saying he has to return home later that day, presumably to his apartment on Labrador Road owned by Ms. Finch.

In later adventures though, stories often begin with Tintin waking up at Marlinspike, clearly having stayed there. I think there may even be instances where he receives mail addressed to him at Marlinspike, although I would need to double check that.

So my question is, at what point, if ever, does Tintin actually leave his apartment and move into Marlinspike Hall permanently?
