Birthday Plans for a Gen-X'r In His 50s Living Alone?

So I'm having a birthday around the end of this month. (Gemini turf, for those who are into that sort of thing.) I had planned a few years back to do something big for my 50th, but that never quite materialized, due to car issues and other stuff. Haven't really done much of anything the last couple of years after that, either. The last sort of "official" celebration was a couple of years before I hit fifty, in a small party at a pinball/arcade place to which only a few friends came.

I have no wife or girlfriend (Haven't honestly tried dating in I don't know how many years. The dating pool these days feels full of toxic waste and whackjobs.). No kids of my own. Both of those are by choice. My birthday falls on a weekend, so I'd like to do something. But what? Most of my close family lives over a thousand miles away... and my parents are really too old to do anything I might want to do. My sister, who's a few years old, is getting over a foot injury, and would probably have other plans with her kid or her husband - who I don't think cares very much for me anymore. Most of my own close friends either have gigs that have them working on the weekends, or family obligations. Some of them feel like they can't be bothered with me anymore.

So, for a fifty-something musician who doesn't really play anymore, mediocre gamer and pinball player, doesn't drink alcoholic beverages anymore, never liked to get stoned or high, and in a place where it's probably going to be too ridiculously hot to do anything... I can't help but wonder. What should I do to make it be something more than just any other day? What would you do, Gen-X'rs?

K/Z Hi Hats vs. Zildjian A New Beats?

Fellow drummers/percussionists/musicians -

Saw a listing in my neck of the woods for somewhat-reasonably priced K/Z hi hats. I'm curious, because I've always been a fan of Zildjian's 1980s-1990s Z line of cymbals, and heard a lot about these back in the day, though I'm not sure I've ever heard them in action. Because I love those old Zs, I'm curious if it's worth it to take the plunge and buy them, and use them instead of my 14" New Beats, which seem to work for everything. Most of my playing is rock, if not heavier rock, though I'll occasionally break out some jazz for practice and coordination around my kit.

Anyone out there who owns/uses K/Z hi hats who can discuss what they like about them, particularly compared to the New Beats?
