I read a theory before that the dead people in this town can somehow try to connect back with the people in the town. By using the juke box, or triggering radio on/off etc.

Maybe the same thing is happening here. Jim is trying to contact his family. He might not have full control in doing so.

MiY and his attention is presently at the clinic, it couldn't be him. Some might say it could be future Julie, but she is a storywalker, not some invisible person.

Jim was one of the main characters of the series and he died in between without completing his part. Maybe his character has to finish a few more tasks.

On the contrary, one surprising thing though, we all thought Jim died on the spot when MiY slit his throat, but that was not the case, he was still alive and talking to MiY. The scene clearly didn't show him dieing either. Did storywalker Julie again came and provided medical help to him? (just a wild guess for fun)
