Turned off by hotel zone vendors

Just made it back home. We did almost all of Q.R and loved it with the except of Cancun. I’ve never seen so much literal begging in my life until I went to Cancun. I wish someone would tell these vendors they are shooting themselves in the foot by harassing tourist. Walked through Mercado 23 and couldn’t go in a SINGLE store because how crowded and rushed I felt just looking. I would stop too look for two seconds-maybe wanting to buy and be SURROUNDED with people trying to be pushy and show me things I have no interest in. Like please, I will buy something but let me come in and look in peace! The vendors we did buy from were the ones that were respectful and gave us space. Following my husband down the street to ask if he wants another tattoo after he said no ten times. The whole situation especially in hotel zone made us very very uncomfortable. Felt like everyone viewed us as a walking ATM vs a visitor. Out of all the Hispanic countries I visited, this was the most intense. Still beautiful , would go back to Carmen just not Cancun. Anyone else made similar observations?
