These scenes were filmed on “Dallas’s” Hollywood soundstage
Apart from the poolside scenes featuring the Ewings enjoying a relaxed Saturday at Southfork, nothing in season 7, episode 15 - “Offshore Crude” feels quite this over-the-top. These scenes were filmed on the “Dallas” soundstage in Hollywood, where the pool is much smaller than its actual Texas counterpart. As a result, the race involving Bobby, Ray, and Peter seems rather laughable, since Patrick Duffy, Steve Kanaly, and Atkins can swim across the pool almost instantly. Nevertheless, season-seven cinematographer Bradford May succeeds in making the exterior sets appear more realistic than they did before, although they still cannot pass for the genuine locations.

Jim Davis Memorial Service 2
Victoria Principal, Susan Howard, Linda Gray, Leigh McCloskey...
Larry Hagman was unable to attend the funeral of his Dallas co-star and "TV father" Jim Davis on May 1, 1981, due to a London airport strike that prevented his return to the U.S.. Despite his deep admiration for Davis, Hagman was stuck abroad, a regret he reportedly carried with him.
Here he is seen leaving the Newton Hotel, Nairn, shortly after hearing of the death of the actor who plays his screen father, Jim Davis.
Dallas Scene of the Day: Significant mother
For all the beauty of this image, the most emotionally devastating moment in “Deeds and Misdeeds” comes when Sue Ellen visits John Ross in the hospital. Crushed by guilt after falling off the wagon - a spiral triggered by J.R.’s accusations that she’d been a careless mother - Sue Ellen can barely face her son. Linda Gray plays the scene with extraordinary restraint, letting Sue Ellen’s timid body language reveal as much pain as her tears do. Her quiet apology, paired with the tenderness of brushing his hair back, is deeply moving. And when John Ross reassures her and clings to her affectionately, it’s almost impossible not to break down. The tragedy is that while he’s ready to forgive her immediately, she’s nowhere near ready to forgive herself.
‘DEEDS AND MISDEEDS’
Season 8, Episode 28
Make no mistake: this is not the soft, watered-down Pam we’ve seen in recent seasons. This is Digger’s daughter - sharp-tongued, fearless, and impossible to intimidate. It’s good to have her back.
‘LEGACY OF HATE’
