Hi guys, do you guys have a game to which you keep coming to even though you have basically done everything that there's to do in it?
In my case, those games are:
Stardew Valley
No Man Sky
Terraria
I play other games and beat some of them. But most games I beat, I never touch them again. Except for these three.
It seems like I will play Stardew Valley forever. This is a game I keep coming back to. I have 4k + hours. Don't get me wrong, I do play other games, but every time I'm burned out or just bored, I know a game that can give me hours of fun. Yep, Stardew Valley is that game.
Do I have a problem or is this game just that fun?
I have never seen a game with a perfect loop of freedom, progression, and discovery like Terraria.
Usually a 30 minutes playing session turns into 5 hours.
At the start, you're just trying to survive the night. Then suddenly you're mining a little deeper... which turns into finding new ores, crafting better gear, unlocking bosses, and reshaping your world however you want. There's always one more thing to do.
What really hooks me is:
Constant progression. You're always getting stronger, faster or more efficient.
Sandbox freedom. Build, explore, fight or just chill — no wrong way to play.
Surprise factor. Hidden items, rare drops, random events... curiosity always pays off.
Stacking goals. "I'll just upgrade my armor " turns into 10 other things real quick.
It also respects your pace. You can go full boss grind or spend one hour fishing and decorating.
Basically, Terraria gives you that dangerous combo of never feeling done, but always feeling like you're making progress... and suddenly is 3AM 🙈🤗🤭
Anyone else get trapped like this or is it just me?
