2018 Kia Sorento problem

Hello, I have a 2018 Kia sorento with 3.3L engine and about 200,000kms on it, it’s been a great car up until yesterday, was on the highway going 120kph (about 70mph) and suddenly there was a bang and sudden deceleration (like I hit something) the engine basically restarted from what it looks like (the dash did the usual light check it does when I start it up) and everything sounds fine but with no power anymore, I pulled over and shut it down, waited a bit then did a restart and it started just like it always does, proper idle no noise or vibrations. I put it into drive and it crawls even though my foot is on the floor with rpm’s hovering between 2000 and 2500 rpm. I put the transmission in manual mode and using that I was able to get it home getting (very slowly I might add) up to 100kph (about 60mph) and it did shift and go through all 6 gears, as long as I shifted up at 2500rpm and when it dropped to 2000 I shifted down to keep the rpm’s up. Also there is no lights on the dash board (no check engine light) I’m on disability so money is super tight and am wondering what could be the cause before I take it in and have a mechanic say something like a new engine or transmission.
Thank you.
