Assuming England top the group then we 100% play a third placed best runner up from group K

Portugal

Colombia

Congo

Uzbekistan

But if the 3rd placed team from group K doesn’t go though as one of the 3rd placed best runners up then we would face a 3rd best placed team from group I which is a tougher proposition

France

Senegal

Norway

Iraq

So It could be Norway or Senegal or worse France

I’d rather face one of the team from group K ( assuming Portugal and Columbia finish in top 2 ) rather than chance it with the likes of a Norway Senegal or France

Ps - I accept , there is chance none of the 3rd place teams from group K and group I go through

In which case it becomes more open ended

as to who we face in R32

And not to suffer hubris , I know in 2016 many of us were celebrating avoiding Portugal and getting Iceland

Will have to consider alternates Either Barnes or Rio

Plus with injuries to James and Livramento as well as Spence being dropped by spurs , stones not playing and Saka and Madueke not looking like they’ll be fit

And Hall injured too
