Does DDP truly replace the need for an IOR for US FBA?

Hi everyone,

I’m an international seller shipping to US FBA. I’ve heard that shipping via DDP eliminates the need for an Importer of Record (IOR). Is this actually true?

Any insights from sellers handling recent shipments would be appreciated. Thanks!

Best place to get a Continuous Bond for a non-resident importer?

Hello,

I am setting up my business to import into the US from overseas. I have already started the EIN application to become a non-resident IOR, and now I'm looking into the continuous customs bond requirement.

  1. Where is the best place to purchase a continuous bond (price-wise and service-wise)?
  2. Why is there such a price difference between different brokers and surety companies? Are there specific factors I should be looking for?

Please let me know if I’ve misunderstood any part of this process or if there are other steps I should be aware of. I’d really appreciate your guidance.

I'd appreciate any insights or recommendations you might have. Thank you!

Bundling book sets for my brand. To stay scalable, I’m planning to use 80-micron poly bags with permanently printed logos (not stickers) to pass Brand Registration Error 5665.

Does Amazon still accept high-quality printed bags as "permanent branding," or is a rigid box now the only safe bet for bundles in 2026?

Regarding FBA , I confused about EPR:

  1. Scope: Do I legally need an EPR number for each destination country, or is registration in the "Source" (FC location) country enough for cross-border sales?
  2. Blocking: Will platforms block sales to specific countries if I don't provide a destination-specific EPR number (especially with PPWR in August)?
  3. Austria: Is a local "Authorized Representative" mandatory for Austria, or can I ship there using my FR/PL registrations?

Thanks for any insights!

Amazon's "Pay on Behalf" will soon require our own EPR numbers (ERN) due to PPWR 2026.

I sell physical books and art supplies, so I only need Packaging EPR (No WEEE/batteries) for EU countries like DE, FR, ES...

  1. What’s the cheapest service/SaaS to get these ERNs quickly?
  2. Or is it easy enough to DIY (like German LUCID) for multiple countries?

I just need the IDs to plug into Amazon. Any recommendations?
