What part of a starter system is the best piece to focus the bulk of the budget?
So, I'm putting together my options for my first system, and trying to figure out how I should allocate my budget. I'm trying to not to go over $2500 usd, and really like some suggestions I've gotten to go factory refurbished/open box. Here's what I'm leaning towards:
Onkyo tx-sr393 factory refurbished-$229
Audio Technics AT-LP70x factory refurbished-$195 (turntable is a must have for my setup for wife approval)
I can get a pair of brand new Focal Vestia N03 and a Niles sw8 sub for $2100( the sub is just a bonus and isn't the point of this pick at all)
Is that focusing too much of my budget on speakers and not enough on amp/source? I'd be streaming to the Onkyo from my phone/pc along with records. Other speaker options I've been looking at are Wharfedale Diamond 240s for $800, Wharfedale EVO 5.4 for $1759, DALI Oberon 7's for $1200, and Klipsch RP-6000f II for $880. Would it be better to go with a lower end speaker and get something like a Yamaha R-N303? I feel like making the heavier investment speaker wise now, then upgrading amp wise in the future might be an easier path. I feel like I'm probably way over thinking all of this also.... paralysis by analysis should be my motto lol. There aren't a ton of places around me to go listen to setups, and I don't have anyone in my circle that's into this scene to really throw ideas off of.
