I really liked The Scholomance trilogy when I first read it last year, and mostly I was just impressed by how hilarious El's internal monologue was. I'm looking for light books now, after too many favourite characters dying in my last read, and would really appreciate a book with a mc with as strong a characterization as El.

I would prefer a standalone, but at this point, I could do with a series of low-stakes fun and memorable characters. If you've read anything like this, please let me know. Thank you
