If you’re a nursing student planning to work abroad, take the IELTS early
I’m saying this as practical advice for nursing students: if you're planning to work abroad as a nurse, take IELTS as early as possible!!
A lot of countries that hire foreign nurses includes Canada, Australia, and UK that require atleast 7.0 band in all sections, and IELTS Academic is one of the most commonly accepted tests. Many nurses only realize this requirement near graduation or when they’re already applying overseas, which delays the whole process.
Taking it earlier has a few advantages:
-You’ll know where your English actually stands.
-If your score isn’t high enough, you still have time to improve and retake it.
-It removes one major requirement from your list when you eventually apply abroad.
Even if you end up working locally, having an IELTS score doesn’t hurt. But if you decide later that you want to go overseas, you’ll be glad you didn’t wait until the last minute.
