How much does it help to have record of federal funded research?

Say you have a large number of papers and literally all your papers have federal funding from multiple federal agencies but none is on your name, (i.e., the PIs are always the other co-authors; this is realistic for PhD students because at least in my field PhD students never get research grants on their name). Is this viewed as just mildly positive point or as a strong plus by USCIS officers for NIW petitions?

Madison USPS issues

I'm an international student. Important immigration documents are being sent to me via USPS priority mail. The package was miss-routed to the wrong post office. The last scan in my tracking history is from that post office yesterday morning with the message "Alert Forwarded" and there are no new scans after that. To any people reading who are clerks, usps employees, or people who know how these things work: Is this pause in scanning activity normal? I would expect that if the package left that post office yesterday morning, it would have reached a sorting facility by now. Why aren’t there any new scans showing its arrival? Please if you understand how this works or knows how I can get help, please let me know. I'm starting to lose my mind over this, as I can't work or stay here without the documents in that package.

Two different tracking numbers after OPT card was produced

On April 1 my status got updated to "card was produced". On April 2 the package showed up on my informed delivery portal where I could start tracking it. Now it is April 6 and another package appeared in my informed delivery, which is also originating from the same USCIS facility but has different tracking number. Anyone knows what is going on?

N/A or blank for middle name?

USCIS instructions say to use “N/A” for fields that don’t apply. That makes perfect sense for clearly irrelevant sections (e.g., preparer info if you don’t have one, or conditional questions you skip). But I’m unsure about fields like middle name or parts of an address (like “In Care Of Name,” “Province,” etc.).

Here’s my concern if I literally type “N/A”: Could their system treat “N/A” as an actual value?Could I end up with mail addressed to something like First Name “N/A” Last Name? Or mail addressed to “N/A” in the “in care of” line, potentially preventing delivery?

In other words, I’m worried that these forms might be auto-processed, and “N/A” might get interpreted as real data rather than “not applicable.”

I’d really appreciate hearing how others filled out these fields, especially people who filed with a lawyer.

I-485 'N/A' and 'None' answers

The instructions say: If a question does not apply to you (for example, if you have never been married and the question asks, 'Provide the name of your current spouse'), type or print 'N/A,'. However when I try to do that in part 6, question 11 (spouse's legal name) Acrobat Reader does not allow to type characters like "/".

Similarly, the instructions say: "If your answer to a question which requires a numeric response is zero or none (for example, “How many children do you have” or “How many times have you departed the United States”), type or print “None,” unless otherwise directed". However, when I try to type "None" in Part 7, question 1 (total number of children) Acrobat Reader only allows numerical values.

The instructions seem to be in contradiction with the form field restrictions. How did you guys resolve this? There are so many fields in the form that have this issue.

I-485 part 9

Questions for Part 9:

  1. Should I select "I do not fall under any of the exempt categories listed above and will complete Item Numbers 57–66." ?

  2. If the answer to the above is yes, how do you fill the "List of Certifications" table in item 62? I don't think I have anything notable besides my degrees from item 61. Maybe just list some skill I have from my work experience like python programming?

I-485 Part 3

For EB-2 NIW what answer should we select in Part 3 of I-485?

1e. None of these exemptions apply to me and I am not required by statute to submit an Affidavit of Support Under Section 213A of the INA, nor am I required to request an exemption.

OR

1f. None of these exemptions apply to me and I am not requesting an exemption as I am required to submit an Affidavit of Support Under Section 213A of the INA.
