Some users on this sub have started compiling lists of other users simply because they don't comment or think the same way. Let's be clear about what this is: it's a fascist practice.
Fascism thrives on identifying, isolating, and targeting those who don't conform to a group's ideology. Creating blacklists of users based on their opinions follows that exact playbook it's a way to intimidate people into silence and signal to others who the "acceptable" voices are.
Reddit is supposed to be a place for open discussion and diverse viewpoints. The moment we start cataloguing people for thought-crime-style offenses like "disagreeing with us," we've abandoned that principle entirely.
These accounts should be banned. Not for having opinions, but for trying to suppress the opinions of others through intimidation and targeting. There's a difference between debating someone and putting them on a list. One is discussion. The other is a threat.
