Building sub at a HS. We were told we would be proctoring AP exams.
Yesterday, the AP coordinator put me in as the “small group testing with extended timing” proctor.
He did this very last minute. This change occurred last minute because he had originally assigned a different building sub to proctor in the AM yesterday but also proctor the extended-timing students in the PM, essentially giving this Building Sub zero breaks or lunches.
The Building Sub pointed this out to me and the AP Coordinator says, “We usually don’t give lunches/breaks when doing AP testing.”
Regardless, he ended up making the change above so that the other Building Sub wouldn’t have to proctor both tests and not have a lunch/break.
In comes me. My contract hours are from 7:30-3:05. As I’m proctoring, the original Building Sub comes in and lets me know that I would have to end up proctoring this exam until 4PM then collect materials. Essentially, I would not leave until 4:15. I also do not get paid extra for this.
I brought this to the AP Coordinator’s attention and he says he assumed we would be staying. I told him no, as my contract hours end at 3:05.
He did not look too happy. However, he did end up proctoring the rest of it.
Now here is where I feel I may have to stand up for myself. Today was officially my first day of proctoring for the exams I was originally scheduled for. One student was running late but they came in last minute. AP Coordinator told me to continue but, if I don’t mark this student as “Present” in the system, they wouldn’t be able to begin the exam. Everyone else had already been marked present.
Once I had read the script, the student who ran late finished checking in but I had to go backwards to mark her Present even though the AP Coordinator kept saying, “just keep going.” I kept trying to bring this up, but he kept saying to keep going. The other Building Sub said he did not do this yesterday. He waited until everyone was checked in and marked present.
Somehow, by going backwards, this caused a simple glitch to where, even though the rest of the students had been marked “Present,” the system required me to do it again. Keep in mind, I would have had to go backwards ANYWAYS because I had to mark her present or she wouldn’t be able to take the exam. This is why I just wanted to wait until she had reached the point everyone else had.
As a result, as students went to access their test, they couldn’t.
I went to show him that I likely need to mark students as “Present” again so they can access the exam. He RIPPED MY LAPTOP out of my hands to figure it out and wouldn’t give me a moment to explain the issue.
He is acting kinder now so I’m not sure if I should bring it up. He may have just been overwhelmed.
Everyone in my personal life keeps saying a B is “too small.” However, both surgeons I had a consult with told me a size B would be most proportional to my 5’1, 125 lbs (planning on losing 25 lbs) body.
Is anyone around my height and weight and would be willing to share their thoughts on this size?
