Homage to Kirby! In-universe ad in “The Revenant”

I'm back to working on “The Revenant” comic, which features my undead-hunting superhero. One of the things I love is the fake ads in comics, especially those that fit within the story's universe.

What I'm sharing here is an ad that will appear on a page of the comic. It's an advertisement for “The True Tales of The Liberator!” by “Superstar Comics.”

The Liberator is my take on the Captain America archetype, and I hope to create a comic featuring him someday because I believe I have a unique idea for his story. This ad showcases how the in-universe comics company, Superstar, which originated in the 1930s, portrayed the missions and adventures of the real-life super soldier known as The Liberator.

Of course, the style is inspired by Jack Kirby, the king of comics. I adore Kirby and consider this my little tribute to him in “The Revenant” when it’s completed. Let me know if you think I did a good job on his style, as it’s so far from mine in so many ways!

For those interested in superhero lore, it's worth noting that The Liberator is the inspiration for the modern-day hero “The True Patriot,” who I recently posted about.
