Apologies for a delay but I had an disagreement with Reddit's markdown system...😂 The Dark Times and the Elemental War 🍃🐿

The Collapse and Chaos

When the Celestial Realm collapsed and its people descended to Myrþ, they found themselves without leadership, structure, or divine guidance. The Four Gods (Vatalor, Aquoriel, Igniscael, Khaotaryn) had expended their remaining energy creating the realm and ascended to higher planes, leaving mortals to fend for themselves.

In this chaos, Spiritweavers emerged as the most powerful individuals, those who could still commune with the fragmented Ymr and wield elemental magic. Most sought to rebuild civilization, establish order, and help their communities survive. But eight powerful Spiritweavers recognized the chaos as an opportunity for dominance.

The Eight Daemons' Strategy

These eight individuals, who would become known as the Eight Daemons, made a calculated decision that would forever change elemental magic and plunge Myrþ into the Dark Times. They deliberately chose to master corrupted and opposing elements specifically designed to counter and destroy other Spiritweavers.

The Elemental Domination Strategy

The Eight Daemons understood that the four Spirit types (Nature, Water, Fire, Chaos) granted specific elements to their practitioners. By mastering corrupted versions and opposing elements, they could systematically defeat any Spiritweaver who stood against them:

Against Shamans (Earth & Nature):

> Acid: Corroding and dissolving earth-based defenses

> Blight: Corrupting and withering natural growth and healing

Against Aquakin (Water & Wind):

> Frost: Freezing and stilling wind's movement

> Poison: Corrupting water's purity

Against Pandemonists (Force & Psychic):

> Thunder: Disrupting force abilities

> Curse: Twisting fate and corrupting the mind

Against Pyroartisans (Fire & Shock):

> Dark: Smothering flames and absorbing light/energy

> Void: Negating shock's electrical power

The Rise to Power

This systematic elemental warfare allowed the Eight Daemons to rise to dominance across Myrþ during the Dark Times:

Phase 1: Targeting Spiritweavers

The Daemons hunted down and subjugated other Spiritweavers. Against each practitioner, they wielded the specific corrupted elements designed to counter that pathway:

> Shamans found their earth defences corroded by Acid and nature abilities withered with blight.

> Aquakin discovered their water poisoned and wind frozen

> Pandemonists had their force abilities shattered by Thunder and psychic abilities cursed

> Pyroartisans watched their flames smothered by Dark, shock negated by void

Phase 2: Territorial Conquest

With other Spiritweavers defeated or forced into servitude, the Daemons claimed vast territories. Each established their own dominion, ruling through fear and corrupted elemental power.

Phase 3: Spread of Corruption

The Daemons didn’t just defeat their enemies, they corrupted them. They taught select followers the corrupted elements, creating armies of practitioners wielding Blight, Poison, Curse, and Void. The natural balance of Spiritweaving was systematically destroyed.

Phase 4: Peak of Power

At the height of the Dark Times, the Eight Daemons stood as the most powerful beings on Myrþ. They had corrupted the elemental system, enslaved countless Spiritweavers, and brought the world under their dominion. The natural communion with the fragmented Ymr became twisted into domination and exploitation.
