Does studying abroad still worth it for Indians in 2026 or are we just chasing an overpriced dream?
Everywhere you look someone is either preparing for IELTS, applying to Canada or planning their “escape”. But with rising tuition fees, insane living costs, visa crackdowns in countries like Canada and Australia, and job markets getting tighter… it doesn’t feel as straightforward as it did a few years ago.
At the same time, people still swear by the exposure, better quality of life, and long term career growth. Then there’s the whole reality check of doing survival jobs, dealing with loneliness, and hoping things work out after graduation.
If you’ve already gone abroad or are planning to, what’s your honest take right now? Is it still a smart move or are we romanticising it too much?
