Moving to Nashua 25M

Hello, I just signed a new lease and am moving to Nashua in early June to a one bedroom apartment in downtown on Main Street. I would love to make new friends and see what Nashua has to offer. I’m making the move from the southwestern part of the state to get closer to work. I’ve lived in NH since 2019 since I went to Franklin Pierce University.

I’m 25M and am a career firefighter, love Boston sports, and going out for dinner and drinks. Big country music fan and love being on the water during the summers. If you’re interested in getting to know eachother better please reach out, would love to grab a beer and connect once I get situated. Looking forward to moving to Nashua soon!

25M single, have been stuck trying to decide on whether to move closer to work and get a fresh start or stay in my current situation which is more financially beneficial.

I have lived in my current location for almost seven years (four during college), share an apartment with someone who I used to work with, but am not close with. Smaller community and farther from my friends. My part time job takes away a lot of free time and social time. Rent is incredibly cheap around $700-$800 splitting with my roommate 50/50 for everything. No window in my bedroom and can’t adopt a cat due to landlord and roommates allergy. Massive living room and kitchen, nice bathroom.

It’s an hour plus drive to my full time job, I’m a career firefighter and work 24hr shifts. Have built up friendships out closer to there and have had feelings of wanting a fresh start somewhere closer to work with more things to do. Apartments range anywhere from $1650-$2400 per month in the small NH city I’m looking at. I could adopt a cat and have a bedroom with a window and a closer commute.

I have lived in the country my whole life, coming from rural Western Massachusetts living in the same house until college and now into my current apartment. Have always been waiting to meet a girl and get an apartment with her. Every girl I’ve dated and gone to her place I’ve felt like I could move there even if it meant leaving my own life behind with my part time fire department and friends.

I’ve saved so much money with my current spot, but it doesn’t always fulfill me and I feel lonely especially when single. I should be able to easily buy a house in the next 2-3 years with a sizable down payment to keep mortgage down. I feel that maybe a fresh start could make my mental health feel much better, but the idea of leaving the safe and comfortable spot is scary and I know I’ll never live on my own that cheap again.

I would consider buying a home now, but not sure where I want to be. I’ve felt stuck for so long overthinking this. I want to enjoy my 20s and live and not wait to meet a girl like I have the last few years. Not sure if anyone has been through a similar situation and how they came to a decision. I’ve tried pros and cons lists, but it feels like I am ready to leave completely one week and the next week I’m thinking about staying where I am currently.
